Weidlingsfahrt auf dem Rhein / on the Rhine

Zusammen mit meinem Mann nutzte ich heute das schöne Wetter für einen kleinen Ausflug auf dem Rhein. Er hat uns auf dem Weidling den Fluss hoch gestachelt.
Taking advantage of the lovely weather, DH pushed the wooden boat called "Weidling" and us up river - like a gondoliere in Venice!

 Nach der anstrengenden Stachelei, der Rhein führt z.Z.wegen Regen und Schneeschmelze viel Wasser, ein kurzes Bad im 10°C kalten Rhein!
 All that pushing made him sweat because the Rhine brings a lot of melting water this time of the year. So DH took a short dip in the still cold water.

Diessenhofen, unser Ziel. Ein Städtli im Thurgau. 

Our destination for a nice Sunday dessert - a garden restaurant on the river bank. 

 Mit viel Routine rudernd überqueren wir den Rhein.
With much routine DH is rowing across the river.

Viel Betrieb auf dem Fluss heute, motorisiert, paddelnd, rudernd, stacheln oder wie hier zum Teil treibend.
Quite some traffic on the river, many different kinds of boats including the passenger boats like the one in the middle of the picture above.
